Prince Edward Island has paused applications to both its free heat pump program and the joint federal-provincial Oil to Heat Pump Affordability program. No date has been announced for reopening.

Ontario has introduced the Peak Performance program, a summer demand response offering aimed at commercial, multi-residential and public sector properties. Participants are paid to curtail electricity use — principally HVAC — during peak hours from June through September. First-time participants can receive up to $20 per kilowatt toward monitoring and control equipment, plus $54.84 per kilowatt of demonstrated consumption reduction during high-demand periods. Facilities must be able to curtail at least 500 kW, individually or across an aggregated portfolio.

Natural Resources Canada announced $10.6 million to support installation of roughly 1,600 public electric vehicle charging stations, with a substantial share sited at Toronto Pearson International Airport.

The announcement continues federal charging infrastructure deployment under the Zero Emission Vehicle Infrastructure Program.

EfficiencyOne has filed its 2027-2031 demand-side management plan with the Nova Scotia Energy Board, proposing $318.75 million in investment. The plan targets 435.4 GWh of cumulative first-year energy savings, 85 MW of cumulative peak demand reduction, and 29.3 MW of available demand response capacity.

The Capital Regional District, working with OPEN Technologies, is launching an energy and carbon reporting initiative for large buildings. From June 2026 the program applies to buildings over 30,000 square feet (2,787 m²), with participation mandatory in the City of Victoria and the District of Saanich and voluntary elsewhere in the region. Coverage extends to buildings of 10,000 square feet (929 m²) and larger by June 2027.
